Working Towards

At this stage in my early teaching career, I have been incredibly grateful for the opportunities I've received, and the experience I've obtained from those opportunities. I've been fortunate enough to apart of one school in particular over my first 3 years as a teacher, where I have grown immensely as an educator, and enhanced my passion for teaching. There are two final strands from the Teaching Standards which I believe I require further work towards demonstrating a proficient standard.

Despite having exposure working with and supporting students with disability, I haven't created my own SEN plan or report. This is something I believe I would need to complete before demonstrating a proficient level of this standard. I have been able to work with and support students with high needs in the classroom, and it is something I will continuously work towards.

Soccer Clinic

Incorporating my passion into my job is something of great importance to me. With approval from admin, I created and ran a free soccer clinic for students of years 4-6 at Bletchley Park Primary School. Due to many expressions of interest, I required another teacher to assist me with supervision and management of students so that I could allow as many students down as possible. Attendance numbers fluctuated throughout the term however, we consistently had more than 30 students at any given session.

To assist myself and the school in obtaining equipment, I was able to utilise my connection with Football West (The West Australian governing body for soccer) to provide the school with a brand-new set of size 4 soccer balls for my clinics. This improved the quality of the sessions, and enhanced student engagement, as they were able to use high quality soccer equipment.
